Events + Experiences

Welcome to Slow Luxury Events and Experiences:
We love meeting like-minded and passionate friends for serious Round Table conversations to seriously-rollicking Sustainable Pop Ups and Parties!

SLOW LUXURY ROUND TABLES
We welcome conversation at the Slow Luxury round table, a place where art meets the finest examples of design, craftsmanship, heritage, environmental stewardship, community and fashion come together in harmony. We’re starting a conversation about what may be truly possible in this modern era of consumerism. Can we attain the highest standards, while retaining our connection to people, places, and time?

Whether the mix is media, makers and manufacturers, industry groups or emerging cultures, the experience is lively and informative.

Key to all gatherings are right-brain creative smart experiences to balance the left-brain logical smarts.

SLOW LUXURY EXPERIENCES

We offer full sensory dives, from our pop up shops to our walkable meditational art installations in galleries or “not the usual” spaces. We happily furnish delights like natural, highly unusual scents from our perfumers; the voluptuousness of local flowers from our artists; live sound from our favorite DJs and musicians; plus stupendous liquid and culinary delights for the tastebuds from our favorite mix masters and so many more… (surprises!) to entice.

Here’s a sampling from the most recent to way back when, when seeds were planted before the birth of what became Slow Luxury!

Slow Luxury Festa! Pop Up Shop at Ornare, New York. November 2017

To benefit kids through art programs in Brazil’s favelas, famed artist JR put one of his signature eyes on the Vivo à Beira, (Life on The Edge), a sailboat racing to raise funds in the legendary Transat Jacques Vabre, 13th edition. The sailboat’s philanthropic and daring sailors braved the unforgiving two-week long Trans-Atlantic sailboat race via 4800 miles between Le Havre, France and Brazil’s northeast coast, along the historical coffee trade route.

In honor and support of the racers and The Brazil Foundation, Slow Luxury threw a holiday version of our Cocktail Party real-time holiday pop up shop with sustainable Slow Luxury for sale. A combo Global Slow Luxury Shops, Evening Round Table Talk, and Networking Festa! in the beautiful Ornare Manhattan showroom featured work from India, to Scotland to Africa. Beauty, jewelry, perfume, clothing, candles, pillows, linens and holiday gifts  for women and men to inspire all within the luxe-custom home design fantasies of our brilliant Brazilian friends, Ornare. A portion of proceeds went to The Brazil Foundation.

Across Perspectives: Design Futures, opens the annual ICFF trade show at Javits Center in New York. May 2017

Jade Dressler brought the Slow Luxury vision and pulled together her favorite design people for a chat on all things new in design for the panel, Across Perspectives: Design Futures. The event opened the annual ICFF trade show at Javits Center. We were very happily surprised as an audience of at least 200 filtered in, up early on a Sunday!

Waking up fast to deliver spot-on trends were Suzanne Slesin, moderator of the panel and founder of Pointed Leaf Press, with panel members, Scott Sanders, Interior Designer; Ellen Fisher, VP for Academic Affairs and Dean at New York School of Interior Design; Ingrid Abramovitch, Features Director, Hearst Design Group (ELLE DECOR, House Beautiful, Veranda); Rio Hamilton, Design and Fashion Blogger/Marketing Strategist, and in absentia, Chad Oppenheim, Principal Architect, OPPENHEIM.

This perspective cross-section gave both panelists and audience much to think and opine about. A great success measure. Happy to say that the talk was also enthusiastically covered by industry heavy, Editor At Large, Business of Home.
